Frigidaire Front-Load Washers: FFFW5000QW vs FFFW5100PW

Frigidaire lists FFFW5000QW and FFFW5100PW as discontinued. Their historical sheets show the same capacity but different cabinet and open-door depths. Use those differences to screen an exact offer, then verify its condition and installation.

Start with the full model and the actual offer

Get a photograph of the offered washer’s full model label. A listing that says only “Frigidaire front loader” or “Affinity” does not establish either model below. Keep a different model on its own documentation route.

These are historical examples, not current-production recommendations. A discontinued support record does not establish whether a seller has a particular unit or what condition it is in.

A shallower cabinet does not mean a shallower open door

The FFFW5100PW cabinet is ¼ inch shallower, but its documented open-door depth is ⅝ inch greater. Check both measurements if a wall, door or walkway constrains access. Neither capacity nor cabinet depth alone resolves that fit question.

These are planning figures. Use the exact installation instructions for connections, clearances, site requirements and any permitted stacked arrangement. Do not treat a cabinet measurement as a complete installation footprint.

Decide whether the extra controls serve a real need

The checked FFFW5100PW sheet lists Delay Start, TimeWise and Stain Clean. The FFFW5000QW table leaves those entries blank. If one of these options matters, verify the actual control panel and applicable owner instructions before paying.

Both sheets list seven wash cycles and the same capacity. The feature names do not establish superior cleaning, quieter operation, present mechanical condition or remaining life. Do not transfer a feature from a similar-looking Frigidaire model.

Keep historical specifications separate from condition

For a used or refurbished offer, apply the used-washer inspection checklist to the actual unit. Establish its identity, recall questions, documented repair history, safely demonstrated operation and written sale terms. A specification sheet cannot verify a seller’s claim that the washer works.

Ask who provides any offered warranty, what it covers and how service would be arranged. Do not infer a fresh manufacturer warranty from the historical sheet. Request current part or service availability for a known concern rather than assuming support inventory from the existence of a manual.

Use the evidence to keep or reject the offer

  • Restricted door access: compare the open-door figures, then confirm the complete installation and access requirements.
  • A required control option: confirm it on the exact appliance and in its owner instructions.
  • Uncertain condition or incomplete model label: resolve that uncertainty before treating either model as a supported choice.
  • Comparing with another washer: use its own current specification, condition and complete offer. This two-model comparison does not rank the whole brand.

Include delivery, installation, required accessories, removal and applicable charges in a dated written total. Keep specifications, condition evidence and sale terms together so a small feature difference does not conceal an unresolved purchase question.
