Keep a photo of the code, the cycle stage and the full model number. Check the matching manual or manufacturer support. Don’t replace a character to fit a search result or use another model’s reset sequence.
Find official support →The brand changes the meaning
CL: the checked LG front-load reference describes Control Lock, Maytag’s front-load reference describes a Clean Washer reminder, and Samsung’s newer-model reference describes a Child Lock safety drain. The Kenmore guide separately limits its panel instruction to the printed model family.
OE: the checked LG reference concerns drainage, while Samsung’s reference groups OE and 0E with overflow. The Kenmore OE example is limited to its stated top-load family.
IE and 1E: Samsung lists these separately, while the LG and Kenmore fill guides retain their own source scopes. Copy the original display instead of replacing a character to fit a search result.
If the brand, full code or model scope is missing, keep the interpretation unresolved and use the manufacturer support route above. A code from another appliance type or a reversed string is not an automatic match.
A warning is a starting point
A code describes a detected condition, not necessarily a failed part. Follow the guide’s stated model and operating limits. Never bypass a lock or perform live electrical tests to clear a message.
