Maytag’s checked MAH6700AW* family manual describes nd as a no-drain condition. The Neptune name alone does not establish that every model shares its tests, pump or control sequence.
Record the retained water and full model
Do not force the door or loosen a drain connection into retained water. Water may be hot. Keep away from wet electrical connections and stop for escaping water.
Copy the complete display and model from the appliance label. Keep nd, nF and a plain numeric diagnostic value separate. A safe photograph helps preserve the characters.
What the checked document establishes
Maytag service manual 16026186, September 2006, names MAH6700AW* on its cover. The consumer-code appendix on printed page B-16 identifies nd as not draining. The diagnostic table also links its no-drain condition with the nd display.
The cover says to consult individual technical sheets for specific models. The family pattern is not an exact-model parts match, and the technician sections are not homeowner repair instructions.
Choose the state you can observe safely
Water remains and spin has not completed
Record the cycle stage and visible water level. Look at accessible drain-hose routing without disconnecting it. Leave hidden obstructions, internal pump conditions and electrical findings unresolved.
Water eventually leaves, but nd returns
Record that delayed result rather than reporting “it drains normally.” Use the matching owner troubleshooting instructions and arrange service if the problem continues.
The model does not match this family or the manual disagrees
Obtain the applicable owner manual and technical sheet through Maytag. Do not use a similar Neptune badge or another brand’s nd page to choose a pump or reset.
Before a drain pump is ordered
Ask what finding distinguishes a restricted drain path from an internal pumping or sensing problem. Confirm the replacement against the full model and relevant revision. This page does not supply service-mode entry, live measurements, a pump-removal procedure or a universal drain-time threshold.
