Suspension Rods / Shock Absorbers

Suspension supports and controls tub movement. Identify the actual suspension design after checking loading, floor support and installation.

External checks before parts

Is the movement tied to a load or the setup?

Stop unsafe movement. With the washer stopped, observe whether one bulky load causes the problem. Check nearby contact and stable support from outside, without lifting the washer or crawling underneath it.

Keep clear of moving parts. Never bypass an interlock, work through water or open the machine without its applicable isolation and access procedure.

Rods and shock absorbers aren’t interchangeable

Match the design

Use the exact model’s illustrated suspension record. A shaking cabinet alone doesn’t identify a failed support part.

Match the complete repair

Confirm the required matched parts or set, revision and safe tub-support procedure. An apparently similar rod isn’t a substitute.

Use the installation and load history

  1. Only one load causes shaking

Wait for motion to stop and the lid or door to release normally. Follow the model’s loading and redistribution guidance. This doesn’t prove suspension failure.

  2. The washer was installed or moved recently

Verify documented shipping-restraint removal, leveling and support. Don’t transfer another model’s bolt or calibration procedure.

  3. Movement persists, or a support is visibly broken

Record cycle stage and cabinet or tub movement for service. Stop use for a support found broken during documented inspection. Suspension, support and other mechanical faults still need differentiation.

What must match before a purchase

Complete model and suffix, exact component or repair set, documented revision or supersession, and the applicable access and verification instructions. Brand, series name and appearance don’t establish fitment.

Resolve setup first, then the confirmed repair

Correct a documented load or installation issue before buying suspension parts. Persistent movement or a documented broken support needs exact-model assessment of the complete repair and safe tub support.

Plan for access and verify the result

Suspension replacement can require a heavy tub to be supported and controlled internal access. Ask for matched parts, labor and associated damage in the quote. After repair, have the original movement problem checked using the applicable instructions. If it returns, reassess the diagnosis before buying another part.
