Samsung Washer Problems

Use this Samsung problems guide to select a symptom path. The initial branches are generic observations; brand-specific errors and procedures require the exact model.

Record the state before choosing a repair

Safety and state. For an active fault, stop for unsafe movement, escaping water or electrical warning signs. Do not bypass locks or attempt undocumented internal tests.

Note the cycle stage, power/display, water in the drum, door/lid state and exact message. A message and a homeowner observation are separate evidence.

Choose the state you can observe

Water remains in the drum

Start with Samsung’s drainage guide. Look for a visible kink or damaged drain hose without opening the cabinet. Retained water can prevent a spin, so a drainage symptom does not establish a motor or pump failure. Follow the full model’s manual before releasing water or accessing a filter; recently heated water can injure you.

The drum drained, but a started spin slows or stops

Use Samsung’s poor-spin guide for a washer that started to spin. Check how the laundry is distributed and whether the selected cycle suits it. If it never begins spinning, use the no-spin decision path and the model’s support instructions instead. Stop for unsafe movement.

No lights, or power disappears when the cycle stops

Use Samsung’s power guide. A dark display belongs on the power-loss route. A powered pause belongs on the stopped-cycle route. If a cord is damaged or you notice electrical warning signs, stop using the washer and request service. Do not test internal wiring.

The controls respond, but the cycle will not start or fill

Use Samsung’s start and fill guide. Note the door or lid state, any displayed message and whether filling begins. A response from the controls is different from a completely unpowered washer. Use the matching manual for Control Lock or release behavior.

It leaks, keeps filling, or shows an unfamiliar message

Stop for escaping water or an unsafe condition. Record the message exactly, including blinking lights, and find support for the full model. Use Samsung’s information-code guide as a starting point, then check model applicability. Some code strings have different meanings across models; do not choose a part from the letters alone.

Follow the symptom, then verify the platform

If your applicable owner manual is WF45T6000A*, document DC68-04006R-07, its English information-code section routes 5C to drainage and Ub to an unbalanced load. Follow that manual’s controlled-drainage instructions before filter cleaning, or its load-balancing route for Ub. These meanings are scoped to that document, not every Samsung washer. E2 aliases, reset timing and internal electrical tests are not generalized.

Homeowner checks and stop conditions

Visible load, external hose, closure obstruction and display observations come first. Opening cabinets, bypassing locks, releasing retained water and electrical testing need separate documented procedures.

Repair or replacement decision

Repair can make sense

A defined fault, a verified repair path, available parts and an otherwise suitable washer support getting a complete repair quote. Check warranty coverage before paying for work.

Compare replacement

Compare the complete repair quote with a suitable replacement installed in your space. Include delivery, installation, removal, required accessories and other existing faults. There is no universal age, price or percentage cutoff.

Diagnosis still uncertain

Get the fault established before choosing an expensive part or replacing the appliance. Ask which findings support the proposed repair and what the quote includes.

Record the appliance and the finding

  • Copy the full model identifier, including suffixes, from the appliance label. A family name or marketing badge is insufficient.
  • Record the cycle stage, load, retained water and exact displayed message. Keep observations separate from a suspected failed part.
  • Match any procedure or part to the exact model and applicable manual revision before acting.
