Frigidaire Top-Load Washers: FFTW1001PW vs FFTW4120SW

Frigidaire lists FFTW1001PW and FFTW4120SW as discontinued. Their dated specification sheets differ in capacity, cycle choices and cabinet size. Use the exact model and document edition to screen an offer, then establish condition and installation fit.

Identify the actual washer before comparing it

Get the complete model-label photograph and the offered unit’s condition and sale terms. “Frigidaire top loader,” a capacity in an advertisement or a similar cabinet doesn’t establish which washer is for sale.

These are discontinued-model examples. A manufacturer support page and a historical specification sheet don’t establish current seller stock, working condition, remaining life or a fresh warranty.

The checked FFTW4120SW record is 13/16 inch taller and 7/8 inch shallower than the FFTW1001PW record, with the same width. Those cabinet differences can matter, but they don’t supply the required lid-opening, hose, clearance or loading-reach space.

Keep the specification revision with each figure. If a seller’s dimensions differ, resolve the exact model, edition and physical measurement before deciding it fits. Don’t silently substitute a Canadian I.E.C. capacity figure or another document’s dimensions.

Choose the differences you will actually use

If a short cycle or displayed remaining time matters, confirm the FFTW4120SW panel and owner directions for those listed features. A cycle name doesn’t establish which heavily soiled or bulky items are permitted.

If you prefer the FFTW1001PW water-level controls, check their actual operation against its manual. Don’t transfer either model’s water adjustment or lid-release behavior to the other. A larger listed capacity or more cycle names doesn’t establish better cleaning, reliability or remaining life.

Check the installation independently

Obtain the complete model’s installation instructions. Measure the delivery route, overhead lid clearance, practical reach into the tub, required site clearances and the water/drain/electrical arrangement. Both checked sheets identify a 120 V supply and 15 A circuit requirement, but that doesn’t by itself approve the existing installation.

If the actual unit cannot satisfy the site and loading requirements, eliminate it before comparing a small feature or price difference. For a different offered model, start again with its own documents.

Compare condition and the complete purchase total

Apply the used-washer inspection checklist to a secondhand or refurbished offer. Establish recall questions, documented work, safely demonstrated operation and written remedies. A specification sheet cannot verify a seller’s “working” description.

Request a dated total for the exact unit, delivery, installation, required accessories, removal and applicable charges. Confirm the warranty issuer and service route separately. Pause for an unreadable label, contradictory dimensions, unresolved fault or unclear return terms.

Compare the separate Frigidaire front-load examples if top access doesn’t suit the location. This page doesn’t rank the whole brand or establish a current best buy.
