Match your LG model before selecting Spin Only or Drain Only. The pictured controls and one-minute option are not universal across LG washers.
Identify the intended operation
Choose extra extraction or drainage deliberately. A drain-only operation removes water without spinning; it is not an extra rinse. Match the exact LG model and control illustration before using an option described for another front loader, top loader or WashTower.
For the designs covered by LG’s guide
LG describes turning power on without selecting another wash cycle, choosing a Spin speed and starting. Its transcript identifies a one-minute selection as drain only without spinning. Use that one-minute interpretation only if your actual controls and manual correspond to the covered design.
If the panel does not provide the documented option, stop and locate the matching owner instructions. Do not infer a hidden drain-only setting from a similar-looking LG panel.
Why water may appear during Spin Only
LG says balance detection can add water during the operation. That can explain an expected balance routine on a covered model; it does not establish that every refill is normal. Record the selected option, stage, load and any message if the behavior does not match the manual.
Separate operation from a recurring fault
If the intended operation finishes normally, record that result. Persistent retained water belongs on the drainage route. A drained load that will not spin belongs on the spin-fault route. A recurring stopped cycle or rinse failure needs the corresponding symptom guidance.
Stop for unsafe movement, escaping water or electrical warning signs. Repeated cycle requests do not establish which part failed.
